honestly was not expecting much coming in, but potluck hawker eatery surpassed my expectations at EVERY turn. first of all, the chicken nasi goreng was phenomenal. every grain of rice was an explosion of flavour—it reminds me of the fried rice i’ve had in taiwan. the gai lan added a nice crunch in between bites and the salty chicken complemented the peppery rice. i also loved how the rice was steaming the whole time, that’s EXACTLY how fried rice should always be served. the may feature, the lechonator burger was also really special. i’ve tried the burger from their sister restaurant, street hawker, before and i didn’t enjoy it THAT much, so i wasn’t expecting much from this, but it was actually really good. the beef patty was a little bit dry, but the lechon was super fatty and added a really nice salty punch to the burger. i also thought the slightly tangy atchara made a really good pairing with the rest of the flavours. the shaker fries it came with was really crispy, hot, and was subtly seasoned with their salty curry powder. finally, the milo roti was the perfect treat to end the meal. the roti itself was so thick , chewy, and flaky , like it was perfectly made. the condensed milk wasn’t too sweet at all, so you didn’t feel sick or anything after eating it. my oNLY note is that i would recommend using different paper for plating the food?? because you can kind of taste the paper / print while you’re eating, and that kinda mars the otherwise masterfully crafted symphony of flavours in each dish.

Today is Sunday Easter and my friend and I came to try this Malaysian Restaurant. We had Fried Chicken, Sando, Chicken with Rice and Roti. The Sando was so delicious with the chicken so tasty and the sauce was amazing. The fried chicken was average. I didn’t like the chicken with rice. It tasted overcooked and with a lack of taste. We needed to add a lot of Chilli Sauce. The roti was ok, nothing special and the curry sauce wasn’t good. The environment and the service are great though.

We loved it here! We did dine out and tried so many things. We loved the Thai milk tea but LOVED the Michael Jackson drink. The chicken sandwich and the prawns were delicious Mains. We also locked the chicken wings and noodles! It’s a cute shop with a great vibe. Food is great and really well priced. We will be back!

Food is good but a bit on the heavy seasoning side. Brussel sprout has a sprinkle of pork floss. Chicken wing with salted egg yolk was okay maybe should try fish sauce next time. Scallop mee is a bit spicy and ingredients didn't mesh as well as other dishes. Char guei taw was very tasty. Decor is very cute and plenty of Asian sauces to remind me of the cuisine they represent.

Wanted to check out this place while their Dine Out Vancouver menu was still available, and got there on the last day. The place was bustling, and had to wait 10 mins for a seat, but it was worthwhile. I appreciate the layout that has the line separated from the dining area, so people aren't hovering. Brenda, the server, was very knowledgeable about the dishes and gave us some great suggestions. From the Dine Out menu, we had the Milo Dinosaur, Gado Gado, and Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken Sando and we also ordered the Char Kway Teow and Daily Hawker Market Curry from the main menu and got to try the Roti Canai, Michael Jackson, and Milo Roti. Milo Dinosaur: this drink was made of malted chocolate powder & evaporated milk. It was blended, but served with some extra chocolate powder on top that I felt tasted better stirred in. It was a nice sweet treat. Michael Jackson: I had a sip of my friend's drink which was made of grass jelly, a pandan syrup and soy milk. From the description, I didn't think that I would like it as I'm not a fan of grass jelly, but the flavours balanced out nicely as a nice surprise. Char Kway Teow: this noodle dish reminded me of the Chinese Gong Chow Nao Haw dish (Chinese beef rice noodle), but better. It had lots of extras cooked in: chinese sausage, fish cake & prawns. It was cooked with good Wok Hei, and wasn't greasy. Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken Sando: I think this was a limited item for Dine Out. It was a sandwich on crack! The bun was a sweet Asian coconut bun, then it had a layer of savory sambal shallot jam, with a fried egg, and fresh cucumber, then a coated deep friend chicken. There was a lot going on. This thing was huge and not to be eaten on the go, as it's so juicy and saucy. Gado Gado: I love peanut sauce, and this assembled with fresh sprouts & cucumber and tofu was a nice light salad. The tofu was a tad overdone. Daily Hawker Market Curry: I love currys, and this one didn't disappoint. This one had a bit of heat, but it was smooth and delicious. Served with fresh vegetables and topped with cilantro Roti Canai & Milo Roti: Fresh roti is so delicious, and when they cook it right with the crispy exterior and melt in your mouth chewy interior goodness, there's always disappointment when it's all been eaten and there's no more.

Spent the weekend in Vancouver and we came here since a local friend recommended it. So glad we did. It was just my husband, daughter and I and we definitely ordered too much, but it was so good we finished mostly everything! We had the fish sauce caramel wings, Nasi goreng (10 ⭐! My fave) , eggplant dish, pad see ew and salted egg yolk popcorn chicken. I can’t wait to go back with our sons. I just know they’re going to love this place too. The server was so nice and patient and even made recommendations. When we placed our order she even thanked me for ordering the items she recommended and said “thanks for trusting me.” She was so sweet; when she asked about allergies and I said nuts, they replaced some of the items that would’ve been garnished with nuts with garlic I believe. We will definitely come here again!

I had some expectations for this place, but the food we tried was very disappointing. The Laksa lacked flavor and toppings—it was honestly the worst Laksa I’ve had in Vancouver. The Sambal Eggplant was okay, but it felt like it could’ve been better seasoned since the eggplant tasted a bit bland. The Crispy Pata was also disappoing. The skin was very crispy, but the meat inside was so dry that I didn’t want more than one bite. Thankfully, the Salted Egg Popcorn Chicken was fine. I enjoyed the chicken and the yum yum sauce. The atmosphere was nice, but since I had to order at the counter and considering the prices, it was definitely not worth the visit
